A Few Nice Things

It has been a few pretty busy months.  And finally, things are kind of mellow out and I got a chance to go wander around.  It is always nice to have a leisure day.  =)  A few nice things from Martha Stewart that I found in the craft store.

Happy Tuesday!  =)

Flower Power

If you've been to my little shoppe recently, you will notice that there is a floral theme going on since spring begins.  The reason being is because of the intensive gardening since then.  So I ended up unconsciously picking up only floral prints when I was at the fabric store.
Happy Tuesday!  =)

Liberty Once Again

This week's feature is once again from Liberty of London but in a slightly different cut of the fabric.  It is such a charming print!

Hi Olivia!

 My recent toy purchase
The little set comes with seven adorable outfits and tons of accessories including my favourite ruffle collar.  My favourites so far are the lemonade costume and the chef outfit.  It also includes six lovely sticks of different scenes.  The lovely pink stripes cardboard lining makes a perfect background for the test shots.
Olivia is ready to prepare our lunch now.  =)

Nice Things

Recently, I've noticed that I'm having a fondness of laces. They are so irresistibly beautiful and delicate. It has become something to look for everywhere I go.
Here are some vintage laces from a recent swap meet. These are some European laces from a last month's road trip. The craftsmanship is exceptional. And I'm still thinking about the Japanese lace stamps. So tempting!
Have a happy Thurday! =)

The Little Danish Town

We always like Solvang. The traditional Danish architecture, the windmill, it is just relaxing walking in the downtown and tasting some of authentic Danish pastries. There are many unique boutique shops, antiques, Scandinavian goods, crafts, etc.
The lovely old fashioned black forest cuckoo clock we've got there. The front and side scenery is beautifully hand-carved. And the precious piece from the Wee Forest Folk we adopted, named Li'l Jar of Jam. This little one is only an inch and a half tall. The details and the craftsmanship is just amazing. Besides downtown, there are many scenic routes around the area. It is best for some country pictures.Happy Thursday!

Besides The Aquarium

Besides the Aquarium, the Cannery Row Antique Mall is another wonderful place to check out in Monterey. The two stories building is filled with tons of treasures.

Pretty Things

Finally, I've got some free time to go out. I've noticed that there is a lot of ruching going on. They are so beautiful and definitely add loads of romantic essence into ordinary objects. Found these lovely ones at Anthropologie.

Flower Power

I've been quite out of touch recently since our little big home makeover. It was the first time that I took my time to walk down the aisle at Target and found a lovely collection of floral pattern. I looked up and found the bright fuchsia pink sign says Liberty of London. No wonder!

City that never sleeps III

The crawl game machine in Hongkong seemed to be more difficult than the ones in Japan. If not, I'd probably had go for this adorable ghostly Gloomy Bear. There were a lot of Japanese craft kits like this key chain kit in toy stores and department stores. I've seen similar ones on Etsy.I wish that Blythe would be as easy to be found as Barbie.
Happy Friday!

Whew! Our Christmas shopping is finally completed. The mall was so packed. I was delighted to see everyone was merrily carrying big and small bags. Another great thing about Christmas is the charming decoration everywhere. This romantic miniature snowy town is the most adorable one I've seen so far this year. And finally, I found this Toy Story Space Crane. I've heard about it for a while and I'm going to put this on my wish list.
So we're moving on to the next step, wrapping the presents and getting other stuff ready for the holiday season.
Have a nice evening and a lovely Sunday!

Newbies

The lovely vintage reproduction of Barbie in the past year has brought a lot of attention to the doll community. Following the pretty colourful and flashy series, the recent series is more focus on the career look. From flight attendant to my favourite student teacher, the hair, makeup, outfits and accessories has beautifully resemble the vintage essence of the original dolls.

Little Things

I was out early to drop off some packages at the post office. It was pretty crowd. I wish I'd do my mail electronically but I just love those hand written labels and the old school post office stamp too much to give up this delicate tradition.
Some wonderful things I've found in the stocking stuff isle.

Nippon Adventure I

Time flies, it feels like we've been gone for a month. So we're finally back and mostly recovered from the adjustment of time difference. Overall, we had a wonderful time exploring a tiny part of the Northern Japan this time. We ate a lot of seafood, saw the fall colour on the mountains and dipped our feet into a few onsens (hot springs). My favourite little shop was the Otaru Natural Crafts in Otaru, a little town by sea in Hokkaido. It has a lot wood and glass crafts.
Extra large version of the little wooden figures.Little parts for decorating your own treasure box.One of my favourite things in the whole trip. A lovely postcard by Takata Noriko.Tiny little milk bottles, less than half an inch tall, and wood tray made with clay.Little glass coffee table and a tiny slice of strawberry cake.More Nippon adventure to come.
Happy Wednesday!

Halloween Fun

I love shopping in the Halloween isle because there are so much creepy funky little things. Isn't this the perfect time for the Skelanimals to show off? These plushy candy buckets are so adorable. I can see them around the house even after Halloween.
These little candy boxes are creepily cute.
The hologram tissue box is awesome. The pumkin Domo kun didn't photograph so well, which turns out more like a carrot. =PI've never thought of the squareness of Sponge Bob is perfect for a Frankenstein face.
Happy Sunday!

When I was small

I used to watch Mr. Men and Little Miss. Those little characters always brought me smile. They don't seem to be around that much these days. I was delighted to see the lovely collection at Compass Books. When I was flipping through the little pictures and simple story, it felt like I was back in time.
Two of my favourite characters, Mr. Bump and Mr. Messy.
Happy Thursday!
