Caught Off Guard

Puchi is a little light sleeper.   You can wake her up even by on/off sound of a camera which makes it very difficult to take a picture of her sleeping.  But once in a while, if we're lucky, have the camera on in another room first and try our best to quietly sneak into the room, we can get a little sleeping shot of her.

The Little One

Puchi has always been the special little one in the house.  She brings us joy everyday, keeps us company for the most part (sometimes she likes to be alone) and cheers us up during the not so good times.  I have to admit that it was a pretty rough beginning when we first got her.  But after all the dramas, we are so glad and grateful that she is part of our small family and she has changed us a lot, in a better way.  =)

Happy Holidays!

Our winter break is going to officially start tomorrow!  Yay!!  I love working but I have to admit that I've been pretty worn out physically and mentally recently with all the planning on festivities and the new year. But before we go, Puchi would like send her regards to you too!
Merry Christmas!!
...be sure to stay warm and get well rested.
By the way, my dear friend from puppy52 has just started a website for her little adorable cats, Ginko and Yoshi.  The fur monkeys are always curious and naughty in a cute and hilarious way.  =)
As always, thank you so much for all your generous support and kind words.  I wish you and loved ones the most wonderful holiday season and all the best in 2011.

See you in the new year!  =)

Fall Photo Shoot

It has been pretty gloomy here in the past week and it was perfect for our little photo shoot. This year we wanted to do something more pumpkinish fall harvest like kind of theme. Prepping was always the fun the part, from picking the right pumpkins to setting up the scene. We were planning to put Puchi inside the jack-o-lantern and let her head and arms rest on the top edge of the lantern. But it turned out that she got her own plan already!
This is my favourite. She was really good during the whole shoot. Here're some behind the scene shots.

Finally Fall

Happy Autumn!
The weather is finally cooling down this week. The leaves are starting to change colours. It is the best time to make a cup of hot chocolate and cuddle up with a lovely book by the window watching the falling leaves. How romantic! =)
Puchi's tummy has been making funny sound the whole morning. I certainly need to keep my eyes on that. Sometimes I do worry that she may eat something bad when she wanders around the house by herself.
Anyways, here're some of her recent photos.

Hi from Puchi

It's me again. Time flies. It has been almost a year since my last post. I'm a year and eight months old now. In the past year, I've grown quite a bit, taller and chubbier and weigh a bit over five pounds. Here's my little update and a few more things about me.

1. I've learned more new words. My favourite word is 'steak' and my least favourite words are 'not for you'.
2. I've learned how to dance and play dead.
3. My new favourite snacks are dried sweet potato and chicken breast.
4. I love playing hide and seek.
5. In a hot summer day, I like to take a nap on the cool wood floor.
6. I love sniffing beautiful flowers.
7. I like to sleep with my head upside down.
8. I like fresh socks(from your feet) but I will take the clean ones for substitute.
9. I do a little stretch routine in the morning, front stretch, back stretch, side stretch.
10. I take bits of whatever food on the coffee table when no one is watching. shhh... that's my little secret.
Here's a snap shot of my adorable back and little leg.I hope you are having a lovely summer and wish you enjoy the rest of it. See you around. Ciao!

The Cute Little One

Sometimes I wonder if Puchi knows that she is the cutest little one ever, at least to us. She is always very good for the most part but sometimes this little one can have some attitude too, in a cute way though. =)
The other day she was trying to ignore the camera.Still ignoring it even when it got closer.Even this close, she had pretty good acting there, huh? =)And finally, she rolled around and showed me her cute pose meaning that I was just playing with you, you can take my picture now.Have a lovely week! =)

Totally Relaxed

I've read somewhere that when a dog sticks its tongue out, it means it is relaxed. The past weeks I've been kind of worry about how the move is going to affect the little fluffy one. It seems that she is doing just fine and more relaxed these days.

The Fluffy Model

If good modeling comes from natural talent, I'm sure Puchi must be born with it. We've taught her to look at the camera when we say cheese. She's usually pretty patient and good. But certainly didn't teach this moody face and make those little crossed arms. She must have learned it from Mr. Teddy.
Happy Thursday!

Happy New Year from Puchi

Greetings from Puchi! She has been talking a lot, even staff from the hotel told us that she tried to talk to them when they walked by. It is interesting and sometimes hilarious when she talks. She doesn't speak English of course but she makes all those sigh, excited, disappointed sound like we do.
This little corn was one of her birthday presents. It has been her favourite toy since then.
Happy Wednesday!

Little Things

I was out early to drop off some packages at the post office. It was pretty crowd. I wish I'd do my mail electronically but I just love those hand written labels and the old school post office stamp too much to give up this delicate tradition.
Some wonderful things I've found in the stocking stuff isle.
A little delightful Bambi storybookA little lovely pink jacket for the chilly nights

Static Effect

It has been pretty dry here past couple weeks. It means there's a static situation going on everywhere in the house. I used slide my back along the wall to create a windy model look but now, someone is taking away my attention. It is the little ultimate fur monkey, Puchi. She is fully loaded with static even when she just lies there. Beware, she'll zap you when she walks by!

Happy Monday!

Halloween Photo Shoot

It has been a while since we started to plan a Halloween photo shoot for Puchi. The theme has been changing from witchy, to autumn and finally to gothic. There were a lot of fun in preparation because we needed to hunt for different props from quite a few swap meets, craft stores, and of course the Halloween stores. And for lighting, we decided to use the simple best natural daylight. It turned out the photoshoot morning was a bit foggy which was perfect.
Puchi was patiently waiting when we were setting up.I wasn't the photographer this time. My duty was keeping Puchi in position which means I need to run back and forth, go up and down behind the camera, and make sure she gets her share of pay, treats. I was lucky to take a decent shot in between.

Happy Sunday!

Something about the Pooch

Hi, I'm the one and only pooch in the house. My official name is Puchi but you can call me Puchista, ChiChi, Chipu. I'm almost eight months old now. There're something I thought you might want to know about me.

1. I talk like a baby and I'm usually very quiet and rarely bark
2. I love sleeping and sometimes I wake up from my dream
3. I love to be clean so I try to skip over the dirty stuff after potty every time
4. I sometimes roll over to show off my cuteness and more importantly to get attention
5. I like drinking water but I hate walking or soaking in it
6. I love all kind of foods and I will stare at you when you eat but I will give up eventually when you ignore me
7. I rub my face and slap the floor when I get frustrated
8. I know a lot of words such as, breakfast, lunch, dinner, treat, cookie, etc.
9. I love going out
10. I love people, okay with doggie, but definitely avoid cats and birds, maybe I will be less scare if I know them better
11. I tilt my head, usually to the left, if I don't understand what you mean
12. I used to jump on people and lick excessively but I'm doing much less now
13. I stare aimlessly when I pretend I don't understand you to ignore you words
14. I roll over and turn my belly up when I see you coming to drag me to go somewhere, especially go back to my house at bedtime
15. I enjoy having a plain popsicle, so-called ice, in a hot summer day and my favourite snack is in this little jar, peanut butter cookiesLast but not least,
16. I sometimes have accidents in the morning when I'm not fully awake

Happy Thursday!

It's August 14th and a curious pooch

This is a little treasure I acquired from the Shine Gallery. It is a mini desktop calendar and a pencil sharpener but it will serve mainly as decoration on our desk.
Puchi loves going to the park because every time she gets to run around off-leash and sometimes she meets some new friends there. She loves sniffing around and see who's been there. She is very curious whenever there are people or doggie walk by.Happy Friday!

New haircut and the standing dog

So Puchi finally got her new haircut. We were intended to request for that spiky 80's punk head but I guess it was easier said than to be done (even we tried to show the sample pic of the little Maltese from the pet shop). Therefore, we simply asked the groomer to cut it short. She was doing pretty good, except when the times she tried to jump on the groomer. So, her hair is much shorter now and seems like her body has strunk down two size. Instead of the 80's head, she has this wide and flat bottom spaceship cut (which resembles my aunts back in the 70's) which makes her look like a naughty little boy.We were trying to introduce Puchi to one of the neigborhood doggies when we were out the other day. Instead of her usual sniffing inspecting doggie hello, she went under our legs and started to make a low "hahhh....hahhhh" sound very faintly. After the couple left, I finally realized what she was doing. She was scared because the doggie was standing on two legs in a stroller the whole time. I guess she must be very confused and wondered what is this two-leg standing human like with a dog head, or the other way around.

Happy Monday!

A long wait

It has been a long wait for everyone at home. Puchi is going to the groomer tomorrow Finally! In fact, somehow she doesn't stink as bad as two weeks ago. You know, there's a saying about the ill person smell. It's probably true. Her stinks gradually fades away when she's getting better, maybe it's a chemical thing inside the body or something.
Anyways, we can't wait for her bath and her new hair cut!

Just like a kid

My mom told me that I used to put Everything in my mouth when I was a baby. So I'm not surprise to see Puchi try to do the same when she explores the world. But I have to say that she is smarter, or say more picky than me because she spits the stuff back out all the time. I suppose those are not tasty or even taste nasty. Instead I've swallowed many things that I wouldn't even touch with my hands these days. I still think it's good to be fearless sometimes. But not when Puchi was trying to eat a bee the other night!
Happy Wednesday!

Puchi and the little Maltese

We took Puchi to the vet for her follow-up visit and it's all good news. She is doing really well and finally can take the cone of shame off. She is super excited for that and starts exploring the world again. For days, she tried to hide her belly (where the wound is) but now she starts rolling around and sleeps on her back again! The only problem now is that she can't take a bath yet. And she stinks! We can't blame her and I'm sure she hates it too. Hopefully, we'll treat her to the pet spa next week when her wound get better. Plus, I think she needs a haircut. =)By the way, we saw this cute little Maltese in the pet shop. She is so tiny and remind us when Puchi was small so much. She is kind of look like a Chinese doll in person. And I love her 80's punk hair. Hmm... maybe this will be Puchi's new cut.
Happy Thursday!
