Vintage look

Vintage! Vintage! Vintage!
The coming up new items are all finished with a vintage touch. I love vintage! They looks so great on the girls, maybe because they are from the 70's.

Road to Recovery

It has been few days since Puchi's surgery. She has been pretty much staying in her house the whole time. Sometimes she moves her little nose (like sniffing) and makes some hissing sound, like she is weeping quietly. It's heart breaking to see. Occasionally, she would come out to check what we're doing and take a short walk in the living room. It would only be a few minutes then she will go back to her house. She has been walking on three legs a lot because she needs to spare one of her little back legs for scratching the wound. It must be very itchy there... She has been eating but not as usual. She refuses to eat her regular dry food. We try to soak the pebbles in water and mix it with supplement gel(which the vet called it the 'puppy's candy'). And of course, with the "cone of shame"(from movie "Up"), we need to spoon feed her every meal. It seems to work for her.

Puchi's home

We've taken Puchi to the vet early this morning for her operation. As common as such a routine procedure, I would be lying if I wasn't worry waiting for the news at home. We finally got a call from the nurse around two and were told that the surgery went well.
She's home now and pretty much sleeping the whole time. We just need to make sure she doesn't scratch the wound as she is VERY flexible when she scratches herself. Hopefully she'll be better in few days and recover in two weeks.
Poor Puchi!

Coping with many

It was such a shocking moment to hear the sad news of Michael Jackson. It is simply speechless. The news report from every single channel is so overwhelming. So many are devastated in every corner of the world. And most of us still, can't believe it is real... One of the greatest singer and artist of all time, a legend who will be remembered and missed dearly in our hearts.

New shirts

These cute little pin dot shirts are my latest creation.
I'm in the progress of making some vintage look flare pants to match with them. Here's a sneak peek. =)

A Portrait of Childhood

A recent drawing. It resembles the precious childhood moments of many with their favourite toy.

First Photo Shoot

Here comes Puchi's first photo shoot! I know we do take photos of her all the time but this is the first time that we set up a nice plot. It sounds like a proud mom, again I need to give her a lot of credit for staying still instead of exploring around. It was her first time to be around all these plushies.my favourite oneAnd here're some snapshots of her sit on greeting training. She's better now but she still can't resist on jumping on people, kids especially. Tomorrow is our big day. Puchi is going to her spay operation. We had struggled the whole time whether to do it or not. We decided to take the advice that if we are not intend to find her a mate, it should be better for her to do it. I hope we are making a good decision for her...

Bratz and Barbie

I was surprised to find this beautiful porcelain Bratz at Toysrus. It was released back in 2008 but I never knew about it. I usually don't like Bratz but she is gorgeous, especially in person. The face is very well painted and her hair is nice and long. Too bad that she had an open mouth, or else I would have got it already. And I always love retro, who doesn't? These new Pop Life Collector Barbie are so cool. From the hairdo to outfit to accessories, also that so "plasticgy" chair comes with the doll... They should make a whole set of those furniture and sell separately!

Swap meet

It was a perfect day to go to swap meet yesterday, sunny with mild breeze. It was our first time to visit this one at Long Beach. We were delighted to find it much less commercialize than some other ones we went to. There were more small vendors which leads to more rare treasures and reasonable price. This one stall selling old games and storybooks had caught our attention. I have to admit that I did not give up my hope for a miracle that I'll find a Blythe doll at a swap meet someday. Preferably not in these shape though.I was so glad to find a button couple selling these fine antique and vintage buttons. There was one more card I wanted to acquire but it was gone when I made my second visit. But I'm settled with these for now. =)

Puchi again!

I know I've been talking about Puchi a lot since we have been hanging out quite a bit recently. We were trying to take her out more, in the neighborhood, to the mall, trying to get her used to people and other doggies. She's getting much better now after a few times. It was entertaining to watch her when we were sitting down. She would try to sit with her head following people walked by, hoping that people would pet her. When people walked away, she would find another target.
We've graduated from puppy class, yay!! I have to give her a lot of credit on winning the "stay" competition, she made it to over 90 seconds. I felt bad to keep her sit still for so long but at least she recieved a big treat from our trainer for her prize. Not bad I guess. The little grey one on the right is her best friend, Channel. We've got her this tunnel from Ikea which I had my eye on it for a long time. She loves it so much that amazingly she was down and let me took this cute little snapshot of her. I guess you can tell she's a happy dog. =)Happy Tuesday!

Love this skirt

Not just that I love this new skirt, I just love this black and white stripe floral fabric. It really has been my recent favourite. =) It's classy yet stylish. I'm so glad that I got it (I wasn't too sure about the thick and thin stripes). And it ended up look so fabulous in every piece I made, including the testing ones. So back to this skirt, it has an elastic waist which was designed and carefully pressed to open up like blossom on the top. It looks especially good with black shirt. =)Available at Etsy now!

Happy Tuesday!

the small things

Can you guess what it is? It's something we all have, or had. It just happen that this one is as tiny as a sesame. They can be found in any corner recently. It's Puchi's baby tooth! Yes, her adult teeth are growing out now. Luckily, she doesn't seem to be in any sore and be active as usual. We've got her this cute little pink heart tag at Muttropolis. And a little bell to let people hear that she's around. Hope it will help reduce the "accidental stepping" to minimum which happens from time to time at home.A picture of her bedhead, so funny.
Happy Monday!

The Loved Dog

Time flies, especially when Puchi is around. She is five months old now and weighs three and half pound. She had her first grooming visit two weeks ago (when I was away). She looks so different now. We still think she looks cuter with her long eyebrow. She is probably getting into her adolescense and starts to challenge her rights and boundaries. It means we need to be extra patient with her. She has been having problem jumping on guests. Because of her size, she often has to stand on two feet to reach people's hand. The problem is people don't mind her because her size makes it look cute instead of agressive or a threat. So now, we are working on training her "Sit on greeting".I've caught a nice deal at the bargain books isle. It's The Loved Dog by Tamar Geller. I have to say it's a GREAT book and totally recommend for all dog owners. It really helps me in understanding dog training and building a better relationship with Puchi. It's about the Loved Dog way not the old military way.
Have a great weekend!

Vacation Report

I'm so grateful that I can take some time off for my little long trip to Vancouver. I was surprised by the extremely smooth flight and the friendly crew from United on my way up. But I couldn't wait to get off the flight for the great food awaiting. Granville Island has always been my favourite place. Public market, delicious food, French Bakery, kids market, specialty shops, musicians... It is just so nice there.I found these little handmade pins by The Pin Pals at Paper Ya. So cute!!
There are a lot of Pitch & Putt parks in Vancouver. It's a lot of fun and great exercise. There are people practicing seriously and there are people playing like grown-up mini golf like me. =P
It is unusual but not surprising. From time to time, you may see mommy duck taking little duckies crossing the road and walking around neighborhoods.I wrapped my trip with one of my favourite food, poutine fries on my way back. It is French fries covered by cheese curds and brown gravy. So delish!!

Happy Tuesday! =)
